Sticky Fingers Daycare Nursery have created an environment that is safe, stimulating, homely and fun.

The nursery was founded by Dominic and Nikki Walford in 2006 and became operational in April 2007. The original idea was Nikki’s, who believes in providing high quality care and education to children and their families.

Children are supported in all areas of their development and we believe that they leave us at the age of 4+ with a secure foundation ready to embark on the more formal aspects of education at the start of school. We have a strong staff team of 11 who equally share our vision of providing high quality daycare and in the seven years since we opened we have had nearly 500 children receiving care; many of our ‘1st babies’ have left the nest and are in Yr 4 of primary school!’ We are now delighted to be welcoming 2nd and 3rd babies.

We provide a 52-place nursery offering full time/part time sessions for children aged between 3 months and 5 years, using both indoor and outdoor play spaces, perfect for learning, growing and having fun. We can additionally offer ‘wrap around care’ for school aged children-up to the age of 8 years-providing they initially received nursery care with us, this can include school holidays if we have places available.

In August 2014 we re-located our premises to a smaller site. We believe our new location brings a smaller and more ‘homely’ feel. The building has had a complete re-furbishment and decoration with a large extension that has increased the size of our playrooms, kitchen and office space.

We have additionally transformed the garden space to create a more natural outdoor environment, the children can get a realistic experience of playing outdoors and can enjoy a return to more traditional style of playing such as tree climbing, den building and really enjoying the differences that an outdoor environment can provide with the changing seasons. Our garden includes a mud kitchen, some natural sorting resources-stones, shells, twigs and corks, we have some water channelling tubes and toys, a construction site and 2 den making areas – one with a covered roof and a wigwam style den. We have kept plenty of space for children to run around, ride tricycles, climb , balance and play traditional ring games. We also have a climbing wall so that children can develop their upper body strength.

To enable your child to receive exactly the right care at each stage of their development we have divided the nursery into 3 age groups to ensure each child is provided with the comfort, stimulation, care, education and safety appropriate for their age.

  • Beanies: 3 months – 2 years
  • Toddlers: 2 – 3 years
  • Pre-school: 3 – 4+years (we have 4+ aged children before and after school hours and have our own 6 seater car to provide ‘school runs’ and are included in our costs)
