All our staff are here to ensure that your child is getting the best possible care and that your needs as parents are being addressed. With this in mind we aim to build a positive parent/partner relationship. Nikki Walford – Nursery Manager takes a full and active role in the nursery and is fully qualified in Childcare and Customer Care Management. We have several staff that teach at Degree level. We also regularly offer short and long-term placements for students on work experience or take on apprentices.
We recognise that our staff are the most valued asset of our business and are at the forefront of it. We take pride in the people we employ both for their experience and dedication to young children. We recognise the important role they play in the children’s lives and we try to ensure they stay with us long term. On-going professional development is met by in-house training or by gaining additional NVQ’s arranged by ETS (Educational, Training and Skills). Additionally, we up-skill our practitioners using external trainers for areas such as first-aid, safeguarding and special needs children.
In 2012 Nikki won ‘Employer of the Year’ in recognition for supporting lifelong learning within the workplace from the federation of Small Businesses in Cornwall.

Nikki Walford
Manager
Nikki takes a full and active role within the nursery and spends the majority of her time in the Pre-school room. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Professional Practice (Children’s Services), alongside various Business & Management qualifications.
Outside of work, Nikki likes to spend time with her husband Dom and two children Bryher and Kaleb walking their dog Woody. She also likes to travel, read and is a member of the Black Swans cricket team.
Cathy Trapmore
Deputy Manager
When not helping Nikki with managerial duties, she spends her time in the Pre-school room. She has a Postgraduate certificate in General Primary and has Early Years Teacher Status.
Outside of nursery Cathy likes to explore the coast path, Cornish beaches and discovering new places and cultures. She loves to spend time with her family and friends as well as escaping with a good book.
Megan Mitchell
3rd in Charge and Beanie Room Supervisor
Meg works fulltime in the Beanie room. She has a Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce and a Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner.
Outside of work Meg enjoys meeting family and friends. She loves going for country and coastal walks with her dog Amber, exploring new coves and beaches.
Jazmine Whittaker
Beanie Room
Jaz works fulltime in the Beanie room. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies.
Outside of work Jaz enjoys exploring Cornwall and going for long walks. In the summer months she likes to kayak and go to the beach. Jaz also loves listening to music and going to music festivals.

Phoebe works full time in the Beanie room. She has a CACHE Level 2 & 3 in Childcare in Education.
Outside of work Phoebe likes to go for walks, chilling out watching movies and going on drives with her friends.

Toddler Room Supervisor
Katie works part time in the Toddler room. She has a CACHE Level 2 & 3 in Childcare in Education.
Outside of work Katie enjoys going on family walks and walking their dog Buddy, going on holiday and meeting friends.
Carla Byrne
Toddler Room
Carla works full time in the Toddler Room. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status.
Outside of work Carla likes to walk her puppy, Dottie. She enjoys exploring the woods and the beach and enjoys spending times with her friends.
Rhianna Cuming
Beanie & Toddler Room
Rhianna works part time and works in both the Beanie and Toddler rooms. She has a Level 2 Certificate for Children & Young People’s Workforce.
Outside of work Rhianna likes going on days out with her family, spending time with her friends and watching movies at the cinema.
Lisa Tilley
Beanie & Toddler Room
Lisa works part time and spends her time between the Beanie & Toddler Rooms. She has a Level 3 in Early Years Education.
Outside of work Lisa likes to spend time with her three boys.
Katie Jones
Pre-School Room Supervisor
Katie works full time in the Pre-school room. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education Primary & Early Years.
Katie is currently on maternity leave. Outside of work Katie likes to spend time with her daughter, exploring new places and going on long beach walks with her boxer dog.
Sarah Matthews
Pre-School Room
Sarah Matthews works full time in the Pre-school room. She has a NVQ Level 2 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce.
Outside of work Sarah is a member of Camborne Town Brass Band where she plays locally and throughout the country. She also likes to travel and explore new places with her family and friends.
